can support the work.

Illustrative engagement opportunities, scoped around the systems, data, and professional responsibilities involved.

Fraud Detection Agents

Assess transaction patterns and flag anomalies for authorized investigators. Define evidence, escalation, and approved response rules before connecting agentic workflows to operational actions.

Virtual Financial Advisors

Prepare financial-planning information, customer questions, and product comparisons using approved material. Personalized guidance and recommendations require review by appropriately qualified financial professionals.

Claims & Risk Processing Agents

Organize claims intake, supporting documents, and risk-review tasks. Authorized professionals review coverage, eligibility, risk assessments, and resolution decisions within the agreed workflow.

What is changing.
What to plan for.

Research reviewed October 27, 2026. Recent standards, research, and platform developments connected to practical project decisions.

DEVELOPMENT / 01

Model governance is becoming more explicitly risk based

U.S. banking agencies revised their model-risk guidance in April 2026, emphasizing controls proportionate to a bank's model exposure, size and complexity. The guidance covers traditional quantitative and non-generative AI models, while explicitly leaving generative and agentic AI outside its scope.

What this means for your project

For fraud, forecasting or risk-scoring work, build an inventory, validation evidence, monitoring thresholds and named owners into the delivery plan. Assess generative assistants separately under the organization's applicable governance and controls rather than assuming the model-risk guidance covers them.

DEVELOPMENT / 02

Agents are entering operations with limited autonomy

The October 2026 Bank of England and FCA survey reports expanding use of generative AI and agents among responding UK financial firms. Respondents predominantly described agents that support human decisions, while integration with existing processes and legacy systems remained important constraints.

What this means for your project

Start with document intake, case summaries or employee knowledge assistance. Restrict tools and data access, require human authorization for consequential actions, and measure exception rates and operational usefulness before expanding permissions.

DEVELOPMENT / 03

Insurance AI oversight is asking for usable evidence

NAIC's 2026 work on insurer AI evaluation focuses on how systems are used, governed and assessed, including their data and risk controls. As of this review, the AI Risk Evaluation Supplement version 6.0 is exposed for comment, so it should be treated as a developing regulator resource rather than an adopted universal requirement.

What this means for your project

For claims support or underwriting analysis, organize system inventories, data provenance, third-party documentation, testing and escalation procedures from the outset. Have the insurer's compliance team confirm the obligations that apply in each relevant state.

Source dates indicate publication or last update. Drafts, regional examples, and product announcements are identified in context. The project implications are Isospins’ recommendations for scoping an engagement.

FIRST PROJECT / EXAMPLE

Prepare a claims file for human review

Extract and organize information from a controlled set of sample claims documents. Present the source evidence and missing items to a reviewer before any coverage or payment decision.

What we need to begin
Approved sample documents, a review checklist, access rules, and banking or insurance subject-matter reviewers.
What to evaluate
Extraction accuracy, evidence traceability, exception handling, access control, and reviewer usability.
What to take forward
A review prototype, an error analysis, approval boundaries, and an integration proposal.

Connect the use case
to a practical plan.

Start by mapping the workflow, its users, and the information that needs to move. Then identify a useful prototype, the evaluation criteria, and the responsibilities for implementation and operation.

Combine AI strategy, machine learning, generative AI, data engineering, and cloud integration around the needs of this industry.

What the work can include

  • Banking or insurance workflow and data-access map
  • Scoped detection, advisory-support, or claims prototype
  • Evaluation criteria, traceability, and human-review specification
  • Integration, escalation, and operational handover plan

Before we begin

Better questions.
A stronger brief.

Bring these questions to the first conversation. We can work through the unknowns together.

Start a conversation
  1. 01

Will the system assist an employee or influence a customer's credit, coverage, payment or investment outcome?

  2. 02

Which model, vendor and data risks need validation, ongoing monitoring and independent review?

  3. 03

What approvals and rollback controls must exist before an assistant can change records or initiate an action?
